Interactive Design Institute, or IDI, is a provider of online courses on graphic design, art and illustration. They offer degrees and qualifications in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.

Background

Interactive Design Institute began life as the Studio Art School in 2004. Their mission was bringing an arts and design education to those who, for one reason or another, didn’t want to follow the traditional university path.

After years of steady growth, they were approached by the University of Hertfordshire in 2008. They began by adapting many of their visual communications degrees for online delivery.

Since then, IDI has managed all teaching and assessment of the material. As they cannot award design degrees by themselves, Hertfordshire provides the qualifications on course completion.

Since the partnership began, Interactive Design Institute has helped nearly a hundred thousand students from across the world get graphic design qualifications in web design, usability, UX design and more.
