What is FutureLearn?

FutureLearn is an online course platform, providing access to hundreds of free and paid short courses, degrees, microdentials and programs from some of the world’s top universities and academic institutions.

What courses are available?

You can take courses at a variety of levels in business, law, finance, sustainability, fashion, economics, languages, engineering, computing, healthcare and more.

Unique to FutureLearn is something called a ‘microdential’. Created or accredited by leading universities, microcredentials are professional credentials designed for you to build in-demand career skills.

Online microcredentials are designed to upskill you for work in rapidly-growing industries, without the time and cost commitment of a full degree. They can be used as an independent certification, for example PRINCE2 Project Management certifications, and some even offer academic credit to use towards a degree.

Are FutureLearn courses recognised?

FutureLearn has a huge library of courses at all levels, and with every course you can receive either a Certificate of Achievement or a Statement of Participation. These can be added to your CV or resume, or on your LinkedIn profile for much-deserved recognition.

On top of that, a large selection of their courses are officially accredited as well. These courses are taught by legitimate universities and academic schools, and so any course you take that’s taught by them, will be accredited.

By taking a FutureLearn course, you could be taught by leading academics from institutions like The Open University, Purdue University, RMIT University, the UK Government Digital Service, King’s College London, The University of Sheffield and more.
